Ed. Matthias Michalka, texts by Sabeth Buchmann and Diedrich Diederichsen.
German/English
132 pages with 39 colour ill.
Soft back, 24 x 16 cm

In this book, Dorit Margreiter questions the relation between film and TV to architecture. Her motif is a late modernist house built by the architect John Lautner. It stages in a number of Hollywood productions where it becomes a 'built nightmare'.
Margreiter approaches this place of lifestyle cliché and family-values made by hollywood from several perspectives. She questions the conventions of representation in film and at the same time shows unexpected forms of commodity and social interaction in the building.

Margreiter, Dorit: Short Hills
Grazer Kunstverein
with essays by Eva Maria Stadler and Yvonne Volkart (German/English)
25,5 x 20,5 cm, 88 pp., 120 col. ill., paperback

"'Short Hills' is a suburban town in New Jersey, where Margreiter visited her aunt and cousin - a chinese-American family, at home and questioned them about their favourite soaps. The title not only suggests that her video should be viewed as a soap opera - albeit a rather different one ... - it also merges the real location and the possible media plot ino a single entity. This false soap involves the realization of a virtual space, in which wishes are formulated and can ths be formed. 'Short Hills' is Margreiter‘s attempt to update the meaning of speaking as a performance of desire and female subjectification using video, and to offer this as a real symbolic space structure that visitors may engage with." (Yvonne Volkart)

Booklet (German/English) with a text by Annamira Jochim.
Zürich: Edition Fink 2007
The Spanish artist Esther Ferrer performed for the first time in 1967, in a concert of the ZAJ group. DVD, 57 min
Ed. Andrea Saemann and Katrin Grögel.
German spoken, with English subtitles.
Booklet (German/English) with a text by Helge Meyer.
Zürich: Edition Fink 2007
Monika Günther prefers modest means and the power of the present moment. She follows the lead of her intuition, often through encounters and found objects. In her development, the German artist evolved from painting to process work and performance in 1982. Since then, she continues to work without a script for her actions in public, either in solo performances or duos with her long-standing partner Ruedi Schill.
In her interview with Andrea Saemann and Chris Regn, Monika Günther talks about her work and the conditions under which it came into being.

Already in the early 1960s, the canvas was too constricting for the American artist Carolee Schneemann. She began to extend painting into space and use her body. At the Judson Church in Manhattan, she created revolutionary performances with many participants that she called Kinetic Theater. With Fuses, she created the first sexually explicit film that militated for the right to a feminine esthetics of desire. Carolee Schneemann continues to maintain a fluctuating line between the private and the political.
