On the occasion of the interdisciplinary CULTURESCAPES festival, whose this year’s edition is dedicated to Iceland, STAMPA gallery presents a work selection by Roman Signer, Silvia Bächli and Eric Hattan. All artworks are inspired by the cultural landscape and nature of Iceland and were made on site: Roman Signer went kayaking on the world’s biggest volcanic island. Whereas Silvia Bächli and Eric Hattan spent a couple of month in Seyðisfjörður, a seaport in eastern Iceland. At that time, Bächli created the first drawings for her solo show in the Swiss Pavilion at the Venice Biennale and in collaboration with Eric Hattan the photographic installation «Hafnargata». The series of documentary snapshots shows the landscape panorama of an unusually snowy winter and omnipresent nature.
